About

Hi, my name is Christopher and I have been working with trees, gardens and hedges since 2014.  I am a fully qualified NPTC City & Guilds tree surgeon, having completed my training at Park Hill Training, Loughborough, in 2020.

My first experience of working with trees began on a commerical cherry orchard in New Zealand, where I spent 6 months pruning and training the young fruit trees; from there I moved to Australia where I continued to gain experience working with apple trees.

I then managed 'A Quality Gardening & Landscaping', a landscaping business based in Perth, Australia, for 18 months and it was during this time that I discovered a love for working with hedges and gardens.  My work then took me to the French mountains before returning back to the UK where I completed my working at heights qualifications and then went on to realise my dream of setting up Minor Oaks.

I am passionate about the environment and strive in my daily activities to reduce my carbon footprint, minimise waste and generally work in an ecologically sound way wherever possible.

When not working with living trees, my main hobby is woodworking and turning the trees and wood I have removed into hand-crafted objects. I first purchased a chainsaw mill in 2020 allowing me to turn the trees I work with into useable timber, thereby reducting my carbon footprint further as my products come with very little environmental impact due to transportation.
